Baja Bound Baja Beach Bash Update - a week to go
Baja Bound Moto Beach Bash Brothers and Sisters - Update
RED - The welcome party at the secret location will have a RED theme so don’t be left red faced as the odd man or woman out….Go RED
Baja Beach Bash Update
Now that Baja Bound Moto Jeffe Tim Morton and DA brothers PAB and Lobster along with a few others have dedicated approx 22 man days to recon and prep for the 2010 ride we are happy to say we are ready to roost!
Well we still have two days of work for 8 people but we are pretty much ready!
NEW SECRET Trails - Baja Bound had unveiled some of their secrets for Beach Bashers in 2009. In 2010 there will be some nuggets released to the world from Baja Bound and some ALL NEW NEVER BEFORE RIDDEN trails laid out for this crew bringing love for Baja and raising some money for the Ranch Santa Marta Orphanage.
The idea is to share the love we have for Baja with those experienced and those looking for their first taste of the Baja. There will be a lot of bikes and riders but this is what the Bash is all about. Trails and connecting roads will be marked by a trail leader and the markers will then be taken down behind us.
Some of what we will ride is under special permission and others are just semi secret trails that we ask that you keep off the web and that you don’t track on Spot Trackers. I’m sure most of you know the first rule of Fight Club, if not Google it……if you are confused then see rule #2.
Tim's and our goal is in part to surprise you and for this round of adventure we have cut in a couple all new trails such as the Kayak and Spiderman trails. No person has ever ridden these for sure because as of last week they did not exist. The Spiderman Trail is a Tim Morton dream come true and took many hours of hiking and plotting to make a reality....we call this work.
For those of you that came on last years Beach Bash some of the favorites are again in play with a few added twists in some cases. Dave’s Diving Board (we suggest everyone walk the actual Diving Board section), Smugglers Trail and Tim’s Trail from Boredom are back and we will again push to clear some points on the beach and the tide looks to be in our favor, well you’ll still be risking some salt water but it will be worth it....you can swim right?
Beach Bash will also feature a nice fresh water expedition so maybe a snorkel is a good idea? No snorkel needed but you do need to be ready for a couple things……
• Riding jackets are strongly encouraged - the marine layer kept it really cool if not cold in some sections. Additionally the new Bushwhacker and Mary’s Trail will test your arms enjoyment of thick brush. Thanks to Larry for sharing!
• Hand guards - Jack did it without and so can you but at times you will be bummed.
• Red t-shirt, hat, glasses and other gear for the Thursday night welcome party.
• Hydration Pack - you need to carry water on you so you don’t dehydrate. There will be times where we all are overheating and hydration is key
• Passport - carry this and your insurance card with your drivers license on you
Don’t ride like a jack arse……
• Wait at junctions for the rider behind you
• Don’t ride in the dust
• Stay right over hills or corners - always assume cars are coming
• Don’t use the short cut on the highway if you know it, a rookie may follow you across traffic
• Watch out for rain ruts and wash outs, there is lots of new danger post the winter rains.
There are a couple spots where no one can get by you so please manage your equipment and save you clutch and don't overheat your bike...if possible. There were 4 of us on the Spiderman Trail two days ago and there were already steaming and smelly bikes.
Help the rider next to you have a great time and we will all laugh together. If you are feeling sour then just tell any of the DA guys and we will spend the day roosting you.
I personally suggest not dropping your bikes on the sand....I'm just sayin'
Viva the Baja Bound Baja Beach Bash! B5!

The RED party isn't like a Mike's dress party I hope.

Sounds like a fun trip! Is this going to be covered like the Rip to the Tip? Videos, pics etc.?

Re: Baja Bound Baja Beach Bash Update - a week to go
Nothing as huge as the Rip coverage. There's a possibility one of the filming riders (known here) will post a little vid Fri. & Sat. nights. Post ride for sure will be some videos.
