Kirk Hotel in Tooele Utah

I will share my experience with the Kirk Hotel in Tooele Utah with you.

During the Lucas race in Tooele we stayed at the Kirk Hotel close to the track.
When I made the reservations I was quoted $75.00 per night.
Upon arrival they increased it to $100.00 per night because it was two of us. I wasn't happy, but agreed to the increase. I signed for it and my cc got charged $443 for the 4 night stay (the extra $40 are probably whatever fees added?).

The stay was interesting as the place was setup more for long term visits. It had a open B&B feel to it and I actually welcomed it for a change. This is not your typical corporate hotel and not for everyone. The stay overall was kind of ok and uneventful. In my mind I decided to look them up again the next year when Lucas returns to the track.

The big surprise came when I looked at my bank statement and noticed an additional charge of $332.

When I called the hotel to inquire about it I was treated rude and the manager tried to baby lecture me on basic procedures. I kept my calm the entire time until I received a racial remark that ended the conversation on my part.

"Learn to speak English" is not very good customer service. I highly recommend anyone not to stay at this hotel that appears to judge its visitors by their heritage. Are they racists in Tooele at the Kirk Hotel? I don't know, but me and my friends wont stay there again.

I talked to my Bank and charges will be reversed.

Bummer Klaus. For some ignorance is bliss. Utah seems a bit unique but I sure would not hold it against the rest of the culture.

No, I loved Utah and the town of Tooele was extremely pleasant. Like I posted above after I left I had planned to return to the very same hotel next time around as the experience was good.
My entire stay actually killed all my feared images of the "Kingpin Movie" out of my head. It was just the stay at the Kirk Hotel that ended up to be very disappointing when dealing with them on a dispute.

And usually there are a lot more of the former, But the latter ruin it for everyone (doesn't it always seem to work that way?).

If you think their Liquor laws are funny you should see their underwear. Honestly the place is beautiful I moved out of their in 1996 the taxes were high [in my book] and the drivers.........well I'll leave that alone for another time. Come to think of it they come here on weekends to do all their "Sinning" because they think god can't see over the tetons.
