    Drag Racing

Well as of today Dale hold the record for the 1/4 mile in a Ford Lighting truck. This is as of the speeds posted by the National lighting club. The Old record was 10.44 (some guy on the east coast) and today at the Bakersfield track Dale ran a 10.39. Hopefully his luck will follow us to The San Felipe race

    Re: Drag Racing

That's one damn fast truck. Assuming his truck weighs around 4000 lbs his engine must be making 900+HP or the traction must be unreal. That must be one hell of a boost / nitrous combo to run those numbers. Is it streetable?

it's liscensed but I'm sure you would not want to run it around town to much. Also, yes it runs a super charger and nitrous.

    Re: Drag Racing

Does he have any dyno runs with the truck on the bottle or does it just light up the tires if you hit the nitrous on the dyno? I'm sure driving a mid 10-second truck around town once and a while must be fun... most guys know the Lightning is fast but I imagine the look on some (insert fast car here) owners face is priceless when they get spanked.

I thought that Pops Motorsports had the record and it was in the 8's or 9's. Is this in the streetlegal class maybe?

    Re: Drag Racing

Either way its an awsome feat to accomplish. My dad and I have a 502 chevy that we cant getto hook for crap so that part alone is impressive to me. We got like a 3.42 gear and an auto and still wont hook. Oh well the dyno sheet looks cool on ours when it says 843ft lb at 45mph but all its good for now with no traction is some hillbilly tractor pulling or something corney like that.
