    Oil Cooler

It's me again....What size oil coolers are you running and what kind of temps are you experiencing? Are you also running a fan? I am running a 24 plate cooler with out a fan and in 100deg ambient temps the car is running 210deg oil temp. This is my first experiance with a VW motor. How hot can you run them at balls to the wall?

I just have a doghouse on my car and just run a remote filter. I know a lot of other people in 9 cars run this same setup.

    Re: Oil Cooler

We use an external Mesa cooler 72 plate 8"x11" in the full flow system and still have the stock cooler in the fan shroud (non dog house), and have had no problems with cooling in 14 years.

It is a new build, only has one race on it. I have some other commitments for that weekend, but am working on getting out of them, if all works out I will be there.

And let me add the pictures of that car don't do it justice................. It has to be one of the best built 9 cars out there.

Thanks Jeff for the comments, Most of the credit has to go to Warren and Rick and the team over at M&T Racecars in Barstow they truly did a fantastic job. Wayne if your coming out for the picnic you should stop by thier shop and say Hi I'm sure thay could answer some of your questions. Jeff whats up with your hotrod? when are you going to race again?
