HELP! New brake system and no brake pressure???

I installed a whole new brake system (front-to-rear. . .new lines, calipers, master cylinder, proportioning valve, everything) and I've pumped fluid through the system going through the bleeder valves to the M/C and I still don't have any pressure in the system when I pump the brake pedal???

I have no idea why this could be???

Could anybody PLEASE help me out? BTW, this is the first time I've done this, but it seems like to me if you've verified that the lines are full of fluid, there are no leaks and the fluid can make it from the calipers to the M/C that you should be able to get some pressure in the system. . .but that's just me.

    Thanks for the help!

Had this same problem, primed master cylinders, then borrowed one of those brake system primers, still problems we ended up making a fitting to put in the master cylinder res filled full of brake fluid pushed a small amount air bleed a little added fluid ect until we got all the air out!!! everyone told us it should be easy but it wasn't. BTW if you have leaks it will screw you up!!!
If you think can or can't,your right!!!!

Sheesh, give us more than an hour and 11 minutes to answer!

Make sure your calipers are on the correct sides. If the bleeder is on the bottom you'll never get the air out.

HELP! New brake system and no brake pressure???

I'm kinda having the same problem with mine, no leaks, no bubbles, but still not a lot of pressure, even when pumped a few times. I had g&j plumb it and they put 2 psi valves on (I can't think of the name, brain fart). Well I had a few guys tell me I needed 10 psi so I put those on and bled it, that help a little, but still not the beat.

    Sorry for the thread hi-Jack

I was just hoping I'd get the ball rolling. . .sometimes I can post up on here and I'll have a reply that answers my question in less than 15 minutes which is awesome!. . .but it's summertime right now and I know most people are outside doing stuff instead of sitting inside at their computer.

I made sure of that when I installed them. . .bleeder valves on top.

Those are residual pressure valves. . .they are only needed if your M/C is below the level of your calipers. They are supposed to keep the brake fluid from gravity draining back to the M/C. . .
    .
. . .also the 2 psi valves are for disc brakes and the 10 psi valves are for drum brakes. . .so if you have disc's then you have the right RPV's.

HELP! New brake system and no brake pressure???

Thanks, will the 10psi hurt the calipers at all? I don't feel like changing them out and bleeding them again tomorrow in Barstow, when I had the 2psi, I could not get any pedal pressure. With the 10psi, it's alot better.

Re: HELP! New brake system and no brake pressure???

    Do this
    1) fill resi full LEAVE THE CAP OFF
    2) Open BOTH Rear bleeders let flow until good amount of fluid comes out
    3) Close rear bleeders
    4) Open front bleeders both at same time just like the rears when significant(Puddle) of fluid has come out of both close
    5) Bleed brakes normally (pump gently and hold) starting with wheel farthest from maste cylinder
