    L92 heads

I am going to be running 6.0 chevy truck motor with L92 heads and 2010 corvette intake in my prerunner.
Theres alot of info on the interweb about this setup , but I don't know anyone personaly who has done this and what results they got. Supposedly it gives you well over 500hp at the flywheel.
Also what fuel pump do most run? I used an automotive pump on my crawler for over 5 years with no problems, but I rarely see them on off road rigs. Why?
On another forum, the idea of flow through fuel rails came up, is this a good idea? The theory behind it is to keep the fuel cool by letting the gas continuosly flow through the rails and not just set there.

    Re: L92 heads

efi should have a return on the fuel rails via the regulator, so this should not be an issue.

    Re: L92 heads

Ya, I thought the same thing. The fuel rail already has returns, but I think the issue is the fuel traped in the rail after the return line. I guess if it gets hot enough it turns into a problem. Ex. if you run your headers over the intake.

    Re: L92 heads

With the 6.0 ported l92 heads, ls3 intake and a nice sized cam you should expect somewhere around 500 flywheel hp give or take. Well over 500 would be a bit of a stretch. Definately a strong motor though.

    Re: L92 heads

Ya, been told the same. Most shops say 500hp, I have never got a confirmed #though. Are you running this setup?

    Re: L92 heads

I was running ported L92's on a 454 lsx in my silverado ss for a while. I haven't ran the L92's on a 6.0 but I know numerous people that have from performancetrucks.net and silveradoss.com and 500 is a pretty accurate number.

    Re: L92 heads

Can you do this with a 5.3? What do l92 heads come on, and how much do they run?

    Re: L92 heads

I'm not sure if you can do the swap with a 5.3, but a local hot rod shop is getting 400+- out of 5.3's . Not sure what all is involved to get those #'s, but they quoted me $1500 to get it there.
I believe the L92 was a production head chevy made. It flows great and since they made alot there fairly cheap. I've seen them sell used for around $500.
Here's a link to some info, more about 6.0's than 5.3s.
