Don't see why not. (They did make AC units for the Aircooled engines as well, I believe.)
It just takes longer to accomplish the impossible.

I've seen bugs with generators and window units...
No reason it couldn't work as long as you could turn the compressor and get enough air flow to the evaporator and condenser.
The trophy bug has a/c.
