X Games 16

I haven't seen anything from anyone on RDC on the X Games lately so I decided to start my own thread on about it. The biggest news that I know of is the new SuperRally event. It's basically rallycross like you see in europe and in DiRT 2. 4 rally cars on the track at once should be awesome. It should be setup to run like this: 3, 4 lap heats of 4 cars each, then an LCQ for the 3 second place finishers the person with the highest seeding that didn't win or get second, then the final will consist of 4 finalist and and a 5 lap showdown. Also I heard there is a "joker" lap around the track where everyone must do an optional route at least once in each race that includes that famous 80 or 90 foot gap that we know from the original rally event. The original rally event will also be a go with the same format of previous years. Also other big news is that Shawn White and Travis Pastrana are both scheduled to be in the best trick competitions of there disciplines in X Games. I wonder what crazy trick Travis is going to try to pull this year. Front flip anyone?

New rally format is going to be the begining of a big growth for rally here in the States as Rally America will be running 3 races this year with this format and there are some big names building cars to compete. Can't wait to see it in the X-Games, finally european FIA rallycross!

Travis Pastrana has pulled out of FMX Best Trick. Doesn't want to do it if he can't pull the trick cleanly. Hopefully this years will be much better than the clown show that was last years, with 2 out of the 5 entries didn't even do anything.

My son was saying the same thing... especially with TP landing it much smoother in his Freestyle run earlier in this very same XGames! I thought Maddo's twist side saddle landing was pretty cool but I liked the cliff hanger backflip best of the few that I saw. I was not able to watch the whole event...

Total dissapointment......Ithought Pastrana would have been in FMX Best Trick and Shawn White in Skate Vert Best trick......Its like LeBron not being in the dunk contest....LAME! They should have given gold to the guy who wadded trying to bust the front flip........I hope Rally X is better than the rest of the events so far
