How do you choose master cyclinders

I have called two places and made posts no real answers... I have a wilwood 4 piston caliper with 11.75x1.25 rotor on our full floater rear end, for the froint going to do 4 piston again but step up to at least a 12.19 rotor... built c4 and 4.0l sohc motor just bolt ons... I am getting a fwd swing pedal but have no idea on which bore size cyclinders to get if i should do remote res or not and if you guys just use a bias balance bar or if you use proportinong valves as well and whether or not you like the lever with presets or the dial for fine tuning?

Really could use your help on this, also for plumbing brakes has anyone bought like a summit kit with hard line and like 4 braided to get started at least?

The following is a master cylinder selection chart. Buy a double master cylinder pedal setup and use the balance bar to adjust front to rear brake bias, a proportioning valve is not needed with this setup. Only stainless steel braided teflon hose, stainless or seamless steel tubing (3/16” x .028”) should be used for brake lines with AN-3 fittings.

    Caliper Combination: Area of Piston
(sq. in.) Recommended Master Cylinder Size Master Cylinder Displacement (1.25" Stroke)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Two 83100 2-Piston Calipers 4.8 sq. in. 3/4" Bore 0.55 cubic in.
    Two 81100/82100 4-Piston Calipers 9.6 sq. in. 7/8" Bore 0.75 cubic in.
    Four 81100/82100 4-Piston Calipers 19.2 sq. in. 1-1/8" Bore 1.24 cubic in.
    Two 81100/82100 4-Piston Calipers and two 83100 2-Piston Calipers 14.4 sq. in. 1" Bore 0.98 cubic in.
Two 81100/82100 4-Piston Calipers and two 73002 2-Piston Billet Calipers 13.7 sq. in. 1" Bore 0.98 cubic in.

Figure out what the piston area is of your calipers from the wilwood website and look at the chart for the correct master cylinder size.

Re: How do you choose master cyclinders

on wilwood it says the forged superlite 120-7429 model has piston area of 4.8, so your little thing shows two 4 piston which equals 9.6 a 7/8 bore but if i get 4 of them it says 1 -1/8 bore... isnt the front cyclinder and rear suppose to be different? or just the bias bar adj is what you change?

Also it front 4 piston are different manufacture (same as pedal and cyclinders) will that make a difference. The company is more of a vw guy and he told me to find out the correct info from other racers in my class

For the wilwood calipers you have you need one 7/8" master cylinder per two calipers. The balance bar adjusts the front to rear bias. The calipers, pedals & master cylinders can be from any manufacturer you choose and are interchangeable with each other.
