BLM Response
I just received a response from the BLM re: my comment left on their website. Here it is:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting the Bureau of Land Management.
The BLM is conducting an official national review of the tragic OHV
incident on Saturday, August 14, at its Johnson Valley OHV Open Area, as
well as continuing to cooperate with other involved law enforcement
agencies in the law enforcement investigation. We expect the review and
investigations to be done expeditiously, but we have no specific completion
date. We will issue further information as it becomes available.
Meanwhile, the BLM is reviewing all OHV events in the California Desert
District for safety provisions. At this point, all options that would
increase the safety to spectators of these kinds of events on public lands
are being considered.

Re: BLM Response
Could you email BLM back and ask them to help us if they have any ideas. They have to remember. If they shut down off roading they wont need as many rangers so their jobs would also be cut. We need to all work together for a safer way for people to live, work and play.

I dont think that will be a good argumaent in anyway. BLM is amazing understaffed as it is now. They could completely close the desert in theory to all off roaders and it would only increase the number of rangers they need to provide enforcement.....
