Those of you posting scenarios of what could happen are also implying that fellow racers are underhanded and dishonest in that they would engage in nefarious behavior just to win a race. I realize that there are a-holes in every walk of life that fit the previous description. However, I have encountered no one in off-road that would want to win that way. (I know there must be some)

I have been racing for 12 years, I have nerfed one class 9. One car! I felt bad afterwards lol. You shouldn't nerf at every chance you get. Jim is working his ass off right now. Then he has everyone on here bicthing bout the first rule he lays out for us! What going to happen if BLM makes up some crazy rules Jim has to enforce it and we all act like this? Please if you racing the next race MORE race then give Jim all of your support. I don't appreciate people talking a bunch of crap bout Jim and more. maybe you dont get it......maybe we dont......what does no bumping to pass have to do with the BLM?????? ill bet it has nothing to do with them......by making this new rule he is going to creat a huge mess after everyrace......so now you catch someone, they wont let you by, you are supposed to stop at the next checkpoint and explain it to them , then somethings going to happen to them? you?......and if you rub someone and they pull over and let you by, you are supposed to report yourself? and the other guy is supposed to report you as well?..........sorry jr, this sounds pretty stupid when its all typed out for you to read, dont you think?.....what a mess.....

this rule is just going to bring out the phenomenal drivers... it takes a lot more skill to pass a car WITHOUT touching them than it does to cave in a rear bumper... Nerfing can be fun but it doesn't make you that much faster... learn to use the horn and not the metal one...

I will miss being able to nerf someone but hey this is the progression of the sport since the tragic incident last weekend... this is just ONE of the many changes that will be happening...

Hopefully this will just be a temporary solution for the time being...

In just about every form of motorsport bumping/nerfing/whatever you want to call has been for all practical purpose banned with penalties....
I remember when I raced in class 9 back in the HDRA days sharing the track with the likes of Ivan Steward and others being asked/told by the fast guys "do not try to get out of the way, we will deal with the overtaking".... True to their word THEY went around sometimes in areas that I cringed watching in wonder how they did it. Everytime I got nerfed, it was by cars travelling maybe a whole 3 mph faster than me. Like you said it takes skill, capability and IMH balls .......... BTW blocking will also de dealt with.
It amazes me that something as insignificant as this gets this much attention. No wander some in the media think that off-road racing is a Mad Max kind of culture....

The No bumping rule won't last. It's a part of the sport. Bumping and slamming are two different things but people will use it as leverage if they get beat.

Look all of this is response is because a dillhole that threatened to use his bumper at the next MORE race. Jim knows everyone is watching this sport and wants to do everything in in his power to keep it alive. Everyone needs to chill....
