    Trans Cooler Plumbing ??s

I am working on plumbing my trans coolers- 2 of the smaller PWR coolers. I have a 4R70W tranny (97-03 F150), and I want to use quick disconnect fittings to make removing the lines easier for prep etc. I was looking at using these fittings: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/adv...tegoryID=JIFFY

There are a couple of different series that have different flow rates (at 5 PSI):
    2000 Series 1.75 GPM
    3000 Series 4.34 GPM
    5000 Series 7.86 GPM

The complete flow specs can be found here: http://www.jiffy-tite.com/motorsport...07&subpage=404

Does anyone know if I can use the 3000 Series fittings or if I have to use the 5000 Series? The 5000 are much more expensive...

    Thanks!

Yeah, but not all that much more than regular fittings. Plus, the first time you want to take off your coolers/lines and you don't have to worry about fluid going all over the place they are worth it.....

Try Mike Torino at TMR in Orange (714-771-1348). He has been selling Race Car Plumbing to all forms of motorsports since pre-1980. The man knows plumbing better than anybody else.

AN fitting prices have skyrocketed in the last few years. Fittings I paid $20 for two years ago are now close to fifty bucks. If you can find a quality quick disconnect fitting for under $100 dollars, then consider yourself lucky. I've been searching around the internet for the past few days trying to get a price on those Goodridge G-link quick disconnect fittings that were featured in this month's Dirtsports magazine. The -8 bayonet style connectors retail for between $750 and $800. J2 precision sells them at a discount, but not enough for me to quit using a couple of AN wrenches and a bucket when I change out my C-4.

Caution! Tony T. said I could be dangerous.

Holy crap...... That is alot of $$$$ for some fittings, no matter how good they are. Check out the Jiffy-Tite fittings I linked above- they are about $80-100 each depending on the size. I know some people that have used them with no problems.
