    what drums are you using???????

    well i just cracked a thing drum putting studs in so what is everyone using and the ones using thing drums is there a secret for putting studs in???

    done that I tig welded it up and am using it-------seems to be a common thing------

    well we did type 3 derums and they were easy but then decided to run thing trums and it wasnt so easy

    Have had good luck with the type 3 drums.
    They will bend first, where the thing's will just crack.

    So What should I do get another thong and run those if I can finally get it or run type 3

    THONG??? haha I think I know what is on your mind... I always heard that Thing drums are the way to go. If I were you I would contact Doug Silcock (Doug969)... He knows his stuff on 9 cars and everything else for that matter

    Type 3 are going to be your best shot IMO. Thing drums are good because they are wider and you can use type 1 standard backing plates that are easy to get compared to the type 3's. The thing drums are a little soft from what I have seen but do work you have to make sure you use the right drill bit and be drilled correctly with a small countersink. What has worked for me is a deep socket or a tube that is long enough that is wont bottom when you press the stud all the way in and that has a ID just a tad bigger then the stud so you wont jack the threads when pressing but must be center. The reason I do that is because if it has to much room around it when you press it in it will crack and wont to push through the drum. It should be a tube or socket that has some width so it wont bend and have a large enough surface to support the pressure and spread the load while pressing it in. Hope this helps

    We'll I think were gonna run type 3. Any ideas on where to get backing plates for them?
