help with Digital video camera
Ok, so I've had this Sony Digital 8 camera for quite some time now and I'm trying to upload the video to my computer in a format that I can save and record to CDfor safe keeping and so I can email it to others. I've got the program that came with the camera, a firewire and I have a "Videowave" program that came with my computer, but when I record to CD & try to open it, the computer doesn't know what program to use. Any suggestions anyone???? Thanks in advance for any help....

Re: help with Digital video camera
If its asking you to select a program to open the file with then the format you recorded on the CD isnt recognized by your computer. You can try selecting windows media player to open it from the the list of programs. What file type did you record to? wmv, mpg, avi, asf, or mov?

you need to check the format that it is saving it as. I have one of those cameras, I use microshaft movie maker, it is simple and works good if you want something better get studio 7

Re: help with Digital video camera
As others have said first check the file that you are saving your movie clips to. Then check to see if that program is set as your default video player on your control panel. i use studio 8.4 and it gives you many options to save the files in different formats ie. real video, windows media player, and others for streaming, dowload, email etc. check out your "read me file" it is a great place for info if you can stay awake untill you find what you need

Thanks for the help guys, I think I just need to go shopping for a different program to use with the camera. I'll check out the ones you guys mentioned.
