candidates survey information, You can help complile voting guide
What do the candidates, who are working hard and spending so much money to get your vote, think about off-road access and recreation? We asked them!
Together CORVA and the California Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs, Inc. (CA4WDC) have given the 2010 Off-Road Voters Guide a new look. Our volunteers have tackled the job and created a very informative method for you to find out exactly how your candidates weigh in on OHV Access. This election cycle we are not going to make voting recommendations for you, but instead provide you with pertinent information directly from the candidates about their position concerning OHV access.
Additionally, it is our goal to educate those who now, or in the future, will hold elected office. The threat to off-highway access is very real and we need their support and cooperation to work together to prevent more closures. Each of the candidates running for state and federal offices in California was sent a survey with three questions.
The candidate responses are currently available at: www.cal4wheel.com/smartOHVoter
Contact YOUR Candidate
But we still need your help!
If you do not see the candidates from your district listed on the Smart Outdoor Voter guide, we have yet to hear from them. Please contact the candidates wanting to represent you in office. Ask them to please reply to this survey as it is important to you in your decision making.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What district am I in and who are the candidates? Your official state ballot will have this information on it but most of us will not receive this in the mail soon enough to get this information. Please reference: www.votesmart.org This website has everything you need to know: the districts, both federal and state, the candidates, how to reach them, all generated by your address.
1. What can I say to my candidates?
Ask them if they have replied to the survey. Why? Access to our lands is an important issue to you and may determine how you and others you know will vote. Ask this of all the candidates in your district regardless of political affiliation. Why? The more feedback we get the more valuable the results and the question format also gives us opportunities for education!
If they have not replied and still have the information needed for submitting their feedback ask them to prioritize the response. If they no longer have the information needed to respond, please let them know it will be coming their way over the next 24 hours. Then contact us and advise us of the candidate, federal or state. We will take it from there.
