Re: hook up GoPro to intercom...
AFAIK there is no external mic option on the GoPro.

Re: hook up GoPro to intercom...
That's correct. You can't hook a GoPro to the intercom...yet. Maybe in the future with the HD model.
The Drift170 has an external mic pickup and it's pretty cheap.
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.

Call PCI race radios...I think they can add a audio outlet to work with your GOPRO...

The problem lies within the inability to input audio to the gopro...anyone have any suggestions?

Maybe you could just record the intercom separately and dub the two together using simple video editing software.

Re: hook up GoPro to intercom...
Bumping an old thread....
Have an old Racer X V3 intercom unit wired to 2 helmets.... it has an 'aux in' port and 'cell' port on the top of the unit next to the squelch and volume knobs.... I figured out the 'aux in' can be used for music (aka iPod via 3.5mm jack) and the 'cell' is for plugging in an external mic (aka GoPro). However, testing this feature out I realized it only records audio from the co-driver and incoming race radio traffic, NOT the driver. Any helpful ideas? I have tried multiple helmets. My guess is an internal problem with the intercom, OR possibly I am using the wrong cable (3.5mm jack with 2 black stripes, not 3 or 4?) Thanks for the help, trying to get ready for the Baja 500!

Re: hook up GoPro to intercom...
I think you just have the wrong cable. I'm pretty sure RacerX or PCI will make you the cable you need for not much money, just tell 'em what you're trying to do. PCI made a cable for my truck in just a few days and it works perfectly. In fact I can listen to music on my iPhone and make calls thru the helmet with it.

That's what I have but without the racerx branding.
