It was a new u point with zerk fittings, it was a 1310 to 1350. I was told the zerk fitting u joints are no good. I am having a new driveshaft made with a 1350 on it then the 2 link goes on.

I was in a wash when it broke
really bad axle wrap can brake U joints, check your spring perches to make sure they are still flat.
The thing with u-joints that have zerk fittings is they need to be installed a certain way so the section with the hole is in tension under forward power. The problem with offroad trucks is the force on the u-joint is going both ways in a rough section since the tire is loading and unloading all the time.
Neapco or Spicers with no zerk are best. Also make sure that a retaining clip didn't rotate and pop out. Sometimes a tack weld is needed to hold them in.
I spent alot of time trying to sort out the axle wrap thing on my '78 crewcab. I have 72" deavers & the first thing it did was pitch the driveshaft.
This is just my opinion..... you are not going to get a traction bar to do exactly what the leaf spring wants to do. but the reality is that if you get it in the ball park it won't matter. Like others here have stated, just think of the silly stuff a leaf does on it's own without a traction device influencing (sp) it.
It does make a world of difference on my truck. I used a single ladder bar type link near the middle, made it long & linked it to the body with a shackle.
This picture sucks but you get the idea. I did later change the urethane mounts on the axle to heims.

It will be getting a spicer on each end and putting it back in on Monday then test again next week, gonna try and 2 link it this week but highly doubt it, got too much on my plate right now with the race and making every ones night bright!
Well I got my 2 link installed and it made a huge difference, I pre ran and rovered the DRIVE race without the 2 link and I could not stand on the gas without horrible axle wrap, that monday I was able to start the process that party barge described and then took it out to Gordons last weekend, I got zero axle wrap and the cornering improved a bit, next to put on is 2.5 bumps and bigger bypasses!
