Plaster City
Well yesterday was my first trip to Plaster city to see the famous Jimco highway stretch. Klaus and I were invited out for testing with John Marking of Fox Shox. When we arrived, we saw Vic Bruckmann was testing all new shocks on his 12 car and flying down Jimco Highway. I got a huge smile and knew it was gonna be a good day. We went out to film for Dezert People 3 and the footage we got was amazing. Matt Scaroni showed up to test his protruck and Craig Stewart came out to make sure it was running good.
Filming -
Words cannot express how frickin fast John Markings car accelerates, I have never seen anything like it before, it was truly breath taking. He would be at the start of Jimco highway and punch it and within no time at all he was running over 100+ miles an hour flying by us.
Next up Vic Bruckman, he could not get into WFO fast enough, He is on the gas and can drive the wheels of his 12 car, its pretty awesome to watch him throw it through those rollers and then the big holes coming back from the highway.
Scaroni's protruck, once again these trucks are just plain bitchin, who does not love these trucks, they look mean, they sound mean and work really good. Craig has the truck setup nice.
Here is the kicker, Klaus got a ride in all 3 vehicles and was still in awe all the way home and this morning when I talked to him. He will share his thoughts when he returns from the CODE race, but I know he said Markings car was unreal fast and worked super good, Vic's car felt like you were on the edge of losing it the whole time and he loved that aspect of it, He also would not stop talking about how comfortable he felt with both drivers and that the years of seat time really shows when the car is at speed. Next the protruck, David was driving and took him for a long ride and he loved it, I think it worked to good for Klaus though because he said it was not as exciting as being on the edge the whole time in the 12 car but a great experience. Some people love the rush of being on the edge at all times and Klaus is one of those guys.
I want to thank all the guys yesterday from Fox Shox, Vic Bruckman, and Team SMD. We had an amazing time, cant wait to do it again. A thank you to David Scaroni for bringing lunch out and Matt for letting Fo-Sache and myself roll the KING RANCH and Bubba for making everyone laugh all day.

Re: Plaster City
After riding in the PT right after riding in Vik's 12 car I think the 12 car feels "out of control" because it is so light and bounces around so much more whereas the PT just soaks everything up. However, I can assure you that Vik is an awesome driving and was never out of control!
Matt on the other hand, well thats another story..... ha ha j/k brother!

Question for Claude: How did the ride in Marking's Class 1 compare to the ride in Beerman's TT with Jeffries at the helm?

Re: Plaster City
John, Klause, Victor,
Thanks for coming down yesterday and testing with us. That was one of the funnest test session I have ever had. Thanks for all you guys do for desert racing.
At the beginning of the day I had the privilege to ride with John Marking. That car was incredible and every time I drove the Protruck it feel really slow after riding in the rocket car. I was absolutely amazed what that car will go through at 100 mph.
Fo-Sache on the other hand just wined the whole time he road with me, I guess getting dirty and eating food from Del Taco doesn’t fit the Fo-Sache mold, but you’re a good guy even if you are a my only liberal friend.
From the shots we got yesterday, I am imagining that DP3 will be the best yet.
