#8 Caution
What do you guys think about Dale Jr. intentionally causing a caution at last weekends race.
I personally think this was really stupid and he should be kicked out of the next race. 25 points is a joke, don’t let him race. I find it amazing how much NASCAR accommodates to Dale Jr. The guy can get away with almost anything. I am not one to say that NASCAR is staged, but I will go so far to say that NASCAR does its best to make sure the #8 has everything they need to win.
If that was Robby or Kevin Harvick doing stuff like that, they would be ousted from the next event.

Re: #8 Caution
He purposely spun out the rear end. He needed to pit, but would lose at least two laps if he came in under green. He was able to stay on the lead lap this way. I don't think any other driver would have been suspended for this. He did not take anybody else out, or try to intentionlly wreck or injure anyone. If he hadn't mouthed off on his radio, they probably wouldn't have even been able to prove it was intentional. When was the last time someone was suspended for anything? I don't remember any recently. Fines, lost points, and probation are pretty much the norm for worse actions then his. Oh yeah, I'm not a Jr. fan just trying to stick up for him.

Re: #8 Caution
In racing, the term "spin and win" proves true every so often.
For Dale Earnhardt Jr. last Sunday at Bristol, Tenn., the term "spin and lose" was more apropos. Or, perhaps the first term does still apply.
As he fell further behind in the field because of an ill-handling car, Junior spun out on lap 431. He then told his team on the radio, and later the media, that he had spun on purpose so he would not lose a lap to leader and eventual winner Kurt Busch.
Like it or not, the old adage is you're only cheating if you're caught, and NASCAR busted Junior. On Wednesday, NASCAR docked Earnhardt Jr. 25 drivers points and fined him $10,000 for intentionally spinning out the Bud Chevrolet so a caution flag would be waved. He was also placed on probation until June 1.
"The driver of the No. 8 car was quite vocal in admitting he intentionally spun out his car to cause a caution condition on the track, which is clearly prohibited in the NASCAR Rule Book," NASCAR president Mike Helton said. "We have several rules in our rule book that have been in place for quite some time to prevent someone from altering the outcome of an event.
So how exactly did Earnhardt "spin and win?" In theory, had he pitted under the green, he would have lost two laps. He certainly would not be in third place in the Nextel standings if you factor in the difference in points he would have earned had he remained two laps down at the conclusion of the race.
He is now 66 points behind leader Matt Kenseth instead of 41.

Re: #8 Caution
i dont know i still think its BS cuz i agree with MSS if it was Robby or anyone other then jr or kenseth there would be a much greater penalty. i like jr i just think it was very unprofesional on his part for his actions. but its nascars desicion not ours so well see how the rest of the season goes.

I think NASCAR did the right thing. They followed up on the rules which states you cant creat a cation intintionally. They took away 25 points which could be very crutial at the end of the 25 races with the new point system. McMurry got fined the same amount of money, after taking several actions agianst Kenseth and possibly hitting someone on pit raod after the race was over. I dont think NASCAR did anything wrong or had any favortism.

What do you Upland people know about Nascar? Newayz What in the name Dale Earnhardts A$$ Was He Thinking? Think how many cautions there would be if everyone spun themselves out becuase they needed to pit for whatever reason. 25 points is only a few positions so the reward definately outweighed the risk and this practice will only be encouraged at all the short tracks now that he basically got away with it with a slap on the wrist. Nsacar shouldn't even bother to fine its drivers. Any person who has a complete "Club E" in their basement and keeps all of his old racecar bodies on his front lawn doesnt need to be fined becasue obviously it has zero effect

Re: #8 Caution
i agree with u on the fact that the fine doesnt effect the drivers. i think the right punishment should have been suspending him for oen race like they did a few years ago for harvick cuz that would effect him more in the points and metally.
but hey be nice about the upland comments im from near by la verne and uplands just fine.
