Re: Dakar, "Mileage"
i'm not sure of the total mileage, but each stage is different. there's folks in the "rally raid" section who will know the total miles or you can just go to dakar.com.

Re: Dakar, "Mileage"
This year it's 6000 miles total, about half Special and half Liaison (transfer). It's 15 days total, including one rest day, so they average about 430 miles each traveling day. This year the first day is only a transfer section, no Special, so it's 13 days of actual racing. Also, this year some stages have different routes for bikes, cars, and trucks.
Here's the "car" route details:
Saturday, 1st January > Leg 1: Buenos Aires - Victoria, Road section, 377 km
Sunday, 2nd January > Leg 1: Victoria - Cordoba, Road section, 566 km, Special, 222 km
Monday, 3rd January > Leg 2: Cordoba - San Miguel de Tucuman, Road section, 440 km, Special, 324 km
Tuesday, 4th January > Leg 3: San Miguel de Tucuman - San Salvador de Jujuy, Road section, 231 km, Special, 500 km
Wednesday, 5th January > Leg 4: San Salvador de Jujuy - Calama, Road section, 554 km, Special, 207 km
Thursday, 6th January > Leg 5: Calama - Iquique, Road section, 36 km, Special, 423 km
Friday, 7th January > Leg 6: Iquique - Arica, Road section, 265 km, Special, 456 km
Sunday, 9th January > Leg 7: Arica - Antofagasta, Road section, 208 km, Special, 611 km
