Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Racing Series
Corona, California (January 12, 2011) – In the continuing effort to foster growth in the development of grass roots short course off road racing, Lucas Oil and Glen Helen Raceway have expanded their regional off road racing series partnership. This program, which builds upon the successful inaugural year for the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Racing Series, will be spearheaded by Lucas Oil Off Road Racing’s Lee Perfect. “We have developed a wonderful relationship with Glen Helen at all levels of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing,” said Perfect. “Now we are thrilled to be working with them to develop a strong working model for short course off road racing at a regional level.”
As part of the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Racing Series, the Glen Helen, Southern California Region joins the Arizona Region and the Arizona Short Course Championship in continuing efforts to promote and develop grass roots short course off road racing. As the Lucas Oil team assumes day to day operations of the Southern California series, they will be working with their Arizona counterparts to develop uniform rules and safety standards for exciting new classes, including Full and Mini Stock Trucks and Mini Open Trucks. While the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series rulebook will be utilized for existing short course off road racing classes, these new classes will create opportunities for off road racers at all levels to compete safely in short course off road racing.
Lucas Oil’s responsibilities will also include developing the fan, sponsor and vendor experience at the Glen Helen Raceway. “We are developing an affordable program for vendors and potential sponsors to become involved with the sport and support short course off road racing,” said Bob Patison, Executive Vice President of Lucas Oil Products. He continued. “With the grass roots nature of this program, affordability for fans, racers, vendors and sponsors is one of our main priorities. The purpose of this program is to continue to develop the sport and introduce more people to the excitement of short course off road racing. We are looking forward to hearing from people who would like to be involved with this program at all levels.”

Will this regional ever get to Nor Cal in association with Vorra? We have a great facility at the Prairie City SVRA and a new short course venue this year in Reno.
