SPEED Energy Brand Impacting Robby Gordon's Future
I wonder how this new SPEED Energy company will impact RG's future in the sport. How successful do you all think it'll be? It's a pretty bold move on RG's part to start his own energy drink company, but as somebody who's followed the energy drink industry for some years now, I think RG is onto something. I think it has a pretty good chance to sell well, provided they market it right, which I'm pretty sure they will. The can itself is easily identifiable and attractive; with the bright orange logo against a black background, like Monster, it's easy to pick the can out from all the other brands(besides Monster of course, but there are a TON of other competitors). It's a good strategy to get the name/brand out there. I feel there's a real chance this brand can get to great heights in the future, which I assume will bring more and more money into RG's operation, correct? This in turn, I feel, will allow RG to pump more money into his Dakar operation, which should increase the chances of success in the future(we think anyways). Way more potential to put money into his operation than being at the whims of other energy drink companies, like Monster or Red Bull. SPEED tastes good, it gives a legit energy boost, the cans look attractive, and RG has several arenas to market it(NASCRAP, SCORE, Dakar, and sponsorship of other drivers/riders); checks all the boxes to be successful to me.
What do you guys think? I'm really interested to hear what you all think.

Time will tell; it's all about distribution and marketing. I will say this though, Speed definately tastes better than most of the energy drinks out there.

SPEED Energy Brand Impacting Robby Gordon's Future
Went to speed trailer. Bunch of clothing. No drinks. Went by the pits, spoke to a crew member. No drinks. Everyone wants to try the drink. None to be had. I did however go to the Baldwin pit and got handful of monster. Then went to the rockstar pit. Got some blue rockstar. Redbull gave some sugar free redbull. All stocked up and ready to SPEED through the day tomarrow.

Hahaha somebody screwed up there; well that's one thing they'll have to fix moving forward. Whenever an opportunity rises, ALWAYS have drink on hand for people to try.

if it tastes ok, which it has to in order to do well, he should sponsor athletes in other venues to gain exposure for the brand. i'm talking anyone from air racing to professional bull riding to the PGA, to sailboat racers to pro surfers, extreme sports, and motorsports of course. put the product out to a very wide base. you have to merchandise it to everyone out there who enjoys these drinks. a few well placed tv spots like red bull had with it's "it gives you wings" short and sweet quicky spots and understand that you have to spend money to make money. he also could do what works for red bull or monster and sponsor huge events as either a primary or associate sponsor. sort of like what tecate does with score. and if i were gordon i'd keep my name OFF of the product it were my company....i'm not sure that he would automatically gain customers because he owns it but he might keep the people who don't like him from trying it and that could be significant. let the drink sell itself. if he ended up with a 5 to 10 % market share of all the drinks out there, it could make him and any investors extremely wealthy...i mean really farning rich.. of course he'd have to be very careful to hire the right folks that know what they're doing in this bidness to put the brand out there and to make it farning available everywhere. availability is a huge factor. my guess is that he'll make plenty enough to race anything he wants as long as he wants. almost forgot maybe the biggest plus factor going for him. an energy drink called "speed"...automatically puts an answer out there for the question of what you need to drink if you want to stay wide awake and bushy tailed...how bout a little "speed"? what could be better?
"so that's your wife? last time i saw a mouth like that, it had a hook in it".........rodney dangerfield RIP....

Next should be Speed Green Tea, With the green S on the black background. Did you all find it interesting that Mark Miller got a brand new Specialized bike two days before the speed/specialized lawsuit?

Probably just a few problems to work out with the FDA, SEC, and the patent office.
