Re: SDSU hoops
Damn, as a 35 year SD native, I was hoping the Aztecs would pull it off. I don't care who they are playing, I always root against Bring Them Young

well, for starters, the aztecs were 20 and 0, that's why and guess what. they still have a better record. every team has bad nights and provo is a difficult venue even when the cougars don't have a great team which they do this year. there's no shame in losing to a team like that on the road. especially when no one expected them to go undefeated in the first place. i was stoked just to see the aztecs show up in the top 25 earlier in the year. i still wouldn't be surprised to see them in the sweet sixteen or even in the final four when it counts and they're NOT playing in provo. BYU may have SDSU's number in league play in provo, but we'll have to wait and see what happens when it matters most i guess. in a way, this sort of takes the monkey off the aztecs back. they can just focus on playing sound fundamental roundball and forget about their record now. i'm still stoked that they're playing well. and that they still have a better record than BYU...for now anyway. ........jeezus ramsey, way to be a homer and support the home team....but why am i not surprised?....what a kiljoy.

when you've got the monetary support of an entire religion behind you and recruit worldwide it's tough to be "out classed" by anyone. let alone a state university program that plays by the rules. fisher doesn't have a huge alumni financial treasure chest to "help" him recruit blue chip athletes and brought this program to it's current situation from scratch and developed these young men through hard work and fundamentals. they are never brash, never too full of themselves and are good sportsmen. they're where they are against all odds regarding recruiting and they're there because they work hard for a common cause the way coach fisher teaches them to be. as far as BYU goes, they SHOULD do well in every sport every year and they do. no surprises there. big money. big programs. no mystery.

Re: SDSU hoops
Kawhi Leonard is a really good Forward, averaging 16 and 11 on a top 5 team is quite impressive and he is only a sophomore. Also he is a "local" guy from Riverside, I remember when he took his team to the Southern Section CIF championship game and upset Mater Dei. I think SDSU could probably grab a 2 or 3 seed at worst come March if they keep playing this way and be a dark horse in the tournament. Possibly be this years Butler. I love basketball.

You really don't know anything about BYU's athletic department and program do you?

I went to school at SDSU for a while and UCSD, but I graduated from BYU and have a daughter there now. A friend from BYU was the Athelitic Director for years and I know a few guys in he department now. Big money... you don't know what your talking about again.

So with "the monetary support of an entire religion behind you and recruit worldwide" they can only get "dog ass, slow movin', boring, lily white" players. Which is it, or are you just a sore looser? I roomed with several BYU Football and Basketball players, they were more broke than I was. Saying BYU doesn't play by the rules is stupid of you, or maybe you are just letting your "hate" get the better of you.

Re: SDSU hoops
All my friends that go to BYU (and there are many) are almost all flat broke. And they don't consistently do well in all sports, they consistently do average to a bit above average with the exception of the Men's Lacrosse team which is one of the best clubs in the west.
