I have a 1972 f100 4X4 and i want to make it 2wd how hard is it to make it I beam?

The suspension swap isnt too bad if you know what youre doing, the biggest pain is getting rid of the T-case.

...and that should be as easy as swapping the 4x4 tranny-and-T-case combo for a 2wd tranny.

You would never see this being asked here on the East coast. It's opposite. I think the 4wd frame is alittle different than the 2wd at the front, but I don't see why all the cross members wouldn't fit the same. You may have to drill a hole or two, or remove some rivets. The steering box might be the only real headache. Good luck post some pics of the progress.

A 72 F100 4X4 is hard to come by and very cool, 2WD F100 are not so hard to find. Don't destroy a cool truck to end up with something you could buy for cheap on Craig's List.

Hey thanks i think your right the more i think about it the 4X4 is not as easy to find as the 2wd maybe i will keep it 4x4 and use the other 2 wd long bed for the prerunner just need to find a cab that is not al rusted out.

Build it as 4wd, you will be glad you did. Look at the Moss Bros. class 3 Bronco as an example, as it uses the same front suspension.

When i got the truck they had removed the transfer case and i'm not sure where to get one to replace it any help out here?

they put a 302 in it with a 5 speed and it was crapy rig job let me tell you so im going to scrap the trans in it now i was wanting to go auto trans if i could
