Re: 2011 Vegas to Reno
It works for you guys, because you have a trailer, haha... I will have to check into a hotel. Do you know if the race will for sure start in Beatty? That way, I can get a room booked now. I can't get any answers from BITD...

Re: 2011 Vegas to Reno
be careful where you stay in or near beaty. Last year they "lost" all of our rooms reservations that we had all made seperately and months in advance. We were literally on the highway on the way to beaty the night before the race calling every hotel in the area scrambling to find new rooms for our entire team. the place that lost all of our reservations was the atomic inn.
I prefer to stay close to the start line so you don't have to wake up so many hours early to drive to the start line for the race.

Trent, which motel do you recommend in Beatty?

Re: 2011 Vegas to Reno
we ended up at some hotel/casino right on the border of CA/NV about 30 minutes from beaty, I don't recall the name but it was hardly a town so there can't be many of them. It worked out ok and it was quiet enough and not too much of a drive to the start line.

Re: 2011 Vegas to Reno
Just a heads up, most motels around the Beatty area jack their room rates up about 150% for that weekend, and they're hard to come by. There are a few campgrounds in Beatty that you can tent camp. In years past, we've stayed in Pahrump Thursday night. Lots of cheap rooms, and it's only a 45 min. drive to the start line, which was before Beatty last year.

Race is getting closer... Who's in and what are you riding? Looks like it'll be a 2-man show for our team...
