Sleeving DOM ?
I have a question to ask which I am. . .well to say the least I'm embarrassed to ask. . .here goes. . .
. . .when you sleeve DOM tubing let's say you want achieve a 0.250 wall thickness and you have 1.75 x 0.120 wall tubing. . .you would normally sleeve the 1.75 x 0.120 with some 2 x 0.120 and not sleeve some 1.50 x 0.120 with the 1.75 x 0.120 right???
Thanks!

Re: Sleeving DOM ?
I usually go on the inside w/my sleeve, unless it cannot be seperated enough to get the piece inside the main tube.

Re: Sleeving DOM ?
Why are you sleeving? Outside sleeving is stronger but ugly. This has some good info on sleeving/splicing starting around p67 of the pdf

Re: Sleeving DOM ?
Well. . .I'm probably not going to, but if I do it will be because I made a mistake and the tubing that I had intended to use is not strong enough for the job. . .the right answer (and what I intend to do) is to move up to 2 x 0.250" tubing instead of sleeving 1.75 x 0.120 tubing to 0.250 wall thickness. . .
. . .I goofed, but I goofed in the planning stage; I haven't bought any tube yet, but I ordered some threaded tube adapters (today). . .I already emailed to see if I could switch my order before it was processed and shipped.
Thanks for the link. . .love the wealth of info on this forum!!!
