    5-1600 Torsion bars

What torsion bars work good in a typical 5-1600 car? front and rear.

Sway Away 5 stack leafs for the front (if you can find them) and 300m Sway Away rear torsions

It's been a few years, but we used to run 27 longs in the rear of our 5/1600. We would run 6 leaves in the front. Less bar means more twist. Back then that was light. But if your gonna run a bypass, then you can use less bar front or rear.

    Re: 5-1600 Torsion bars

We run 26mm torsion in back and used to run original torsions up front cause we have a 2.5 x 10 shock in front, just changed to sway away leafs up fron and it got pretty stiff, but gave it too much torsion, but for the rough San Felipe course it ran great.

300 m for sure. With the travel we are getting out of the cars now you need something that will last more than two races. I run a 26mm with bypass shocks in the rear and 25% stiffer up front with soft valved 2.0s.

If you are going to buy new stuff go with the long bars. I had a bunch of intermidiate stuff left over so I am still using it.
