    107 cops racing race report

Bummer to hear this news this morning from one of the chase guys for Cops. That car was doing work all day. I agree it was a TT eater as it was way in front of most the TT class after diablo dry lake and way in front of any other car through 220

You guys may build a beautiful race car and have fantastic drivers, but your internet presence makes you guys seem like a huge bunch of crybabies, and knowing Danimal Martin personally I know that is not the fact but you may wanna lay off the whining on RDC for a bit... making you seem a little lame

Give me break. The No Potential had nothin for the Racer this weekend and ya'll should be ashamed for pairing with SCORE and letting this happen. Cops deserve the 250 W and it sounds like their not gonna get. Thats not right. Please, someone tell me it is.
You guys did win the race.. It was the Neg REP 248!!! Why is everyone that reps racer a D-bag on here????? You guys need to get on page with charlie sheen for some tigerblood .. Quit being poor sports. Rules are rules.... Justin davis winner winner chicken dinner.

BTW, just wanted to say that Dan & Dale were haulin da mail and sorry about the CV issue! Turns out Ronny Wilson was also having a good day with a couple of issues, one of which was losing a CV just a couple miles short of the finish!

So, does it hurt more losing a CV when yer having a good run just short of the finish, or half way into the race? At least Dale was able to get home for the birthday party instead of being stuck out in da desert We lost the tranny (in '08 SF 250) about RM 155 around noon and got back to the house around 1am

Hang on Hang on!! The current rule book is the 2006-2010 rule book. Maybe the Cops team is reading a copy of the 2011 rule book and they ARE able to tow the car within the last mile of the course. This is SCORE and remember Sal Changes Our Rules Everyday.

So this might not be over yet!!! Stay Tuned!!

Might have came up short this time but if you keep putting your self in a position to win, all the time. The planets may line up one day and you'll get the win. But until then: Loser!

It is absolutely dumbfounding that "Racer" in representing a team that has such amazing media success with Langley Productions, would post one of the wrost race report releases of all time. Very disapointing.

Oh well, How a person handles themselves in defeat speaks far more about them then how they celebrate victory....

Congrats to Justin and his team and best of luck to the COPS team on their next adventure....

Re: 107 cops racing race report

The bad news is the DQ situation is unfortunate, but there really is no way around those rules. Cops Racing teamed up Dan Martin and Dale Dondel, two VERY talented and experienced racers in a crazy fast class 1 car. Starting around 32nd(?) off the line and getting within the first 10 TT's on the roughest course ever takes massive skill, and balls so big they clank. All that ended because a cv joint failed to survive the last 1% of the course. When it broke, it would not have mattered if 107 had a chase crew in sight, the repair would take more time than the lead over the 2nd place car. At that moment, (after screaming every cuss word in every language he speaks) a driver has two choices; and both of them suck. That has always been the case in offroad racing. Today, the California 200 incident last August changed this sport forever in terms of enforcing rules. No promoter can avoid enforcing any of the published rules when they involve safety. During the driver's meeting Sal mentioned that insurance providers are turning up the heat and that leaves a promoter with no room to bend rules or make exceptions. The last mile of a race course you expect to see spectators shoulder to shoulder, especially while the leaders are finishing. Throw in a Superduty towing a class 1 car, and one slight mistake by the next vehicle can be catastrophic. If the tow vehicle unhooks within sight of the finish line the unavoidable occurs, as fans insist on pushing the racer through. So now 6 or 8 or 12 guys are pushing, waving to the crowd, and balancing their beers at the same time. We all know how that would turn out. What should have been a huge victory turned into nothing at that moment and it had to be judged as a DQ. Once the IRC guys do their stuff and the car is released there is a horribly awkward moment when somebody official has to be the one to tell you the verdict. I'm certainly not gonna do it. l don't know how to tell somebody who just finished what might have been the best race of their life that it won't count. I leave that to the management. The good news: while Cops Racing started as a new "celebrity" team with a couple limited cars it is crystal clear they are now a serious threat to winning overall.
