The best part of any of the Battlefield games was the armored combat, IMO. After being disappointed going from BF 2 to BFBC2, I wasn't sure if I was even going to buy BF3. In the meantime, I was recently introduced to a FREE game called World of Tanks, basically Battlefield tanks in a Counterstrike type game format, with a leveling up process for your tanks & crews like an MMORPG, set during WW II. Wow, what a blast!

There is money involved, a 'premium' account levels your tanks up faster and you can buy special tanks, but I've only coughed up $7.00 so far and that was to just enlarge my garage so I don't have to sell tanks to buy bigger ones.

If you've never tried it, go to World of Tanks.com, register for an account and download the game.

They are also planning to release a game called World of Warplanes, if they do this, I may not even bother buying BF3.

Thre are some who dont like the "armor". I like playing with the tanks. I think they are trying to find a balance between that. I like the BF format......

Thats what BF1942 was about... a complete "Battlefield".. but not some sim attempt. A fun, active game, not too real.. not too corny..

Its got the usual battlefield beta connection issues so be patient. Should be used to them by now. It has other problems but it is a beta. I like it though very fun when its finished.

So far I made it to level 13 or 14...Cant remember.....Just now getting the good guns. Ill be on tonight if you wanna play. Kinda hard to team up the squad thing is messed up still but we could do a "party"...
