Les, are you going to build it into a Roger Mears replica Budweiser Nissan?
Yea.. that would be sweet, but its up too Troy, he bought the thing, id like to say one project at a time...weve seen how that went. it would be a good M1K rally rig, think of the spares we could carry in the back! check out the front grill-bumper...sturdy...

Dana, I hope the one you are getting from NC is pre-smog and rust free! I knew a guy who put an old Datsun body on a Ranger chassis and drivetrain.
We are still waiting for it to ship. And no it is not pre-smog we will smog it as soonas we get it but depending on if it looks as good as the photos we will make our minds then on how far to go. If it has much rust we will just use the cab and put it on a tube chassis with all of the Mason Motorsports a arms, bulkhead
,rear arms basically all of the old parts off of the race truck with the 2.4 ecotec and the Culhane turbo 400 .But if it is real clean we will have you draw up some front arms with coilovers and just put some big leaf springs on the rear.Scott ps I have not forgot about the cd for you as soon as I get it in hand I will give you a call.

I raced a Datsun 720 1 time in 1979 at a mexicalli 250, I lead class 7 from the start to just past El Chinero and broke the left front spindle. People who have never been in a class 11 think it is a horrible ride even though it is smooth as hell, class 11 even in the 70s with standard Bilstiens rode so much better than that Datsun truck, that was my one and only race in a truck. Even as a young man that thing beat the tar out of me lol. I often wonder if the wheels moved up or down at all. I remember it being quick as the owner had a ton of money in the engine and the rest of the truck was as good as any that were running at the time like Jim Conners Olympia Datsun. It really hated the sand. That was the only race that truck ever raced because the owner ended up with Jim Conners extra cab Datsun body and cage and took all the parts off and put it on that body. It was the same body desing of the 720 but with a tiny extra cab conner was racing in 77-78.

You don't have to tell me I raced class 11 . We raced the last year @ Parker with the California side and did all of the SCORE races that year . I wish I could find some pictures. It was orange and had Verr construction on the side.I towed it with my 1981 Datsun pu and pre ran with the truck also MAN LIFE was easy back then.

In my early days of racing after I got my license in 1978 I towed my class 11 car with a 1971 Datsun truck, towed my 5/1600 to the 80- 82 Mint 400 with it and use to tow my bugs to Saddle back with it. I had to park at the top of the hill, walk back down get the race car because the truck would NOT tow the bug out of Saddleback park LOL
