Re: trailer tires
I always like discount because they are everywhere so if you have an issue they all not too far away. I always call them and get their price on a tire, then go to tirerack.com and get their price (which will be cheaper) print the page take it to discount and boom they price match. Just got new tires on our trailer and the wifes car that way. Save about 200 buck doing this way. Hope this helps.
www.Damagedgoodsonline.com for quality used motorcycle parts. We buy blown up motorcycles.

Re: trailer tires
I'm done with trailer tires! They rot quickly in the sun, overheat and blow out unexpectedly, and are generally a poor excuse for a tire. I've switched to a heavy duty commercial LT tire like the Michelin XPS Rib or the BFG commercial TA truck tires. I run the LT245/75R16E1 BFG Commercial on my 20 ft buggy trailer with good results.

i'm with you . you'd think they'd be something special the way they price em' but the "trail america" tires on the thing are just junk. with the 500 coming up, i don't want to replace these things with the same thing. i'm gonna check out some different options and i thank you both very much for your input. rep to you both.

Re: trailer tires
yup, I agree get a LT truck tire. have them balanced also, will last waaaay longer.
if you have a light open trailer, you can also use car tires, I do. you can get real close on load ratings. on my tandem 16 I used Kumho tires and lost only 100 lbs per tire capacity, and saved about 35 each on purchse.
big trailer D or E rated truck tires work great.

Re: trailer tires
This topic has come up before. I've had great luck with my Maxxis Radials. Model is M8008, with a Load Range "C", size ST205/75R15. I have these on my 16 ft tandem axle trailer.
Outstanding ride/wear/stability! Will be purchasing another set when the time comes!
Good luck!

Me too! BFG AT's, last way longer and have yet to have a flat.

Re: trailer tires
BFG AT's. Trailer tires blow out too easily, and second to that is undersized axles, or bad bearings/poor prep on the trailer.

Re: trailer tires
After purchasing Goodyear Marathons for both our tandem trailers then experiencing 3 blowouts in 3 trips (Yes all were inflated to spec, load was way under max, just blew up!), we purchased some Hercules 10 ply tires rated 2840 each @ 80lbs pressure. Any one have experience with these tires?
Thanks

x2 I run these on my 18' flatbed and have yet to have a issue. Even when I am running it at the load rating.

I also got tired of the regular trailer tires on my enclosed gooseneck. But I upgraded to Goodyear G614 RST tires. They have worked awesome.
