Best 16\" VW 5 lug wheels?

I'm looking for some 16x8 wheels with 5x205mm lugs. Any recommendations? Thanks!

The two most common wheels are the Ultras and the Centerlines. I have run and abused both. The centerlines are thin, and I'm not sure what the process is called that makes them, but they are pretty strong. They bend and dont break when hit by rocks. For $40-$60 you can have them straightened and polished too. The Ultras are cast or forged. They hardly ever give, but when they do they break and explode. I would recomend centerlines for a race car. If its for play, I would go with whatever suits your wallet and eye.

I agree with the centerline comment...have straightened them many times and they keep taking it. also have beadlocks on the front now and have not bent a rim since. was bending 3 to 4 a race before ..so they pretty much pay for themselves in a few races....going by the price mentioned above.

Centerlines are "spun" aluminum. They start life as a round disc of sheet aluminum. They are put on a lathe like machine and the shape is formed as the disc is rotated. They are easily bent back because they are made by being bent. Did that make sense?

How much power or what type of car are you going to be running the cebterlines on? We have been running the centerlines on our 1 car and the front 16'' beadlocks have been perfect, have never gotten a front flat after almost 2 years of racing(knock on wood). The rear 15'' beadlocks on the other hand have lasted us but we have gotten a few flats from the rim bending, probably just driver error. The other probelm we are having with them is they are starting to show cracks in between the rivets taht hold the two pieces together. Keep in mind we are running 35'' project mtr's with the northstar v-8, so when it hooks up there is a lot of force on the rim. The centerlines have not failed us yet but we are exploring other options to get away from the cracking in the rear. At the last race when our car flipped the centerlines just bent and we are actually getting them straightened out as spares.

I haven't built the car yet, but it will be a mid engine V6 or N*.

I visited McKenzies today, and they had two choices. The Centerlines, which they said were forged and riveted, and the house brand (CMS?) that are spun and bolted. I also plan to run 35's, so I want a 16x8" rim. The CMS are available in 4" halves, and the Centerlines are not, or so I was told. Can someone clarify this a little more?

Ok that doesn't make sense... here is the info straight from center line http://www.centerlinewheels.com/technology.php

My opinion, don't bother looking at anything else but a centerline for a buggy.
