Hi shad425. External stators for the CR500 are very hard to come by these days. Eline Accessories stopped producing the side case's about 4-5yrs ago. Baja Designs no longer has anything laying around at all. I would recommend checking with www.servicehonda.com. Our search around on Ebay to see if anyone is selling a used one.

Can the original stator be re-wound on the CR500?

No. There's not enough room to add extra windings to the existing poles. Plus we use a thicker gauge wire.

your best bet is to check www.bannedcr500riders.com and www.cr500riders.com
once in a while they'll pop up on the the d-37 site: http://www.district37ama.org/forums/...isplay.php?f=7
they definitely do not come around often, be prepared to spend $300+

sh had a 'digital ignition' that came with a lighting coil, but that product had some flaws and I'm not sure if it ever went back into production
depending on your needs, you could run a total loss system

Here's a link to our total loss system for the motocross bikes that don't have lighting capabilities!

We do recommend getting a longer front brake cable since the stock one will get in the way!

Thanks for all the info. Ya Service Honda doesn't produce the digital setup anymore. No one makes anything bigger than 25watts.

    I'm trying to power my 2x 8" hid's.

What's a total loss system? Where can u get them?

Re: E-line OR Baja design's External stator?

Hi Shad425 this link will show you our battery powered system we offer for the Mx bikes. It will power our 8" HID race light or Diablo HID light for a little over 3hrs. No wiring, no stator just mount the light to the front forks and go.

shad, total loss refers to a system that is battery only with no charging capability, so you are always draining the battery when using the lights or other accessories.
Not to bust your b@lls Diego, but what is the comparison with the trailtech total loss system?
It looks like it does the same thing but at about half the price, though the BD HID is a bit less expensive:
    battery and charger -$130
    extra battery - $110
    http://trailtech.net/batteries_capacitors.html
    harness - $15

The Trail Tech battery is 6000mah at 11 volts. The Baja Designs Battery is 10,000 mah at 14.8 volts. It will run a 35 watt HID nearly twice as long.
