Hub centric rings for RG race wheels?

Does anyone know who makes a hub centric ring or something to get Robby Gordon race wheels centered on Ford 82-96 4x4 hubs? My wheel studs are 5/8" but the holes in the wheels are 13/16", so just sliding the wheel onto the hub results in it being slightly off-center.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Andy

    Andy,

Try calling Gorilla Automotive Products @ 800-262-6267 and ask for Susan in customer service. If you provide her with your wheel hub bore she should be able to take care of you.

    Good Luck!

I'm gonna run into the same problem with my Ultra rims. I know on some buggies you use cone seat spacers and use the cone portion to center the wheel and then reverse each one by one so the wheel doesnt move off center. Not sure if that would apply here though. The only thing holding the wheel on center is the clamping force of the lug nuts. On a heavy class 8, thats a lot of force, but maybe that's the right way .. I'm not sure though.

You're right...its Lug-Centric. A lot of cars/trucks on the road are that way. Thats why its key to torque your lugs and keep them torqued...

That works well when you're using a tapered lug nut and the hole in the rim isnt much larger than the stud. I know in Andy and my case the holes in the rims are considerablly larger than the 5/8" studs and the rims are designed to use flat lug nuts so there is nothing to center the wheel right now.

I would think if they were lug-centric the wheel studs would be a tigher fit ..... maybe I'm wrong.

Actually, my rims have a slight taper machined into them, but I didn't have any luck with the tapered lug nuts I tried using on them. I am going to try another set that the guy recommended at RG Off Road when I called them.

I know Tube-Works makes some 300M 11/16" wheel studs, I hope I dont have to run those as they are not cheap.

I would think somebody with a lathe and some time could make adapter rings fairly easily.

If the lugs with the "correct" taper do not work, that is the plan.
