ART CARR out of business?
I was wondering if anyone knows if Art Carr is still in business?
I have tried to call a numerous times in the last few days and the phones are disconnected.
325 698 6667 is not in service and neither is the 800 number.
Anyone with any info?
Thanks

Re: ART CARR out of business?
Art carr Performance has gone out of business.
Try Winters Performance / Maverick Industries
Found this online... from Feb. Drove by about 30 minutes ago. Locked up but you can see inside the office. Looks like they're just closed for the day but the message on the answering machine states that they are closed due to "Bad economic times." They may have shut down in the last few days and haven't had time to clean the place out.

Try the other Art Carr... as there is two businesses with that name.
Winters sells the same shifter.

Re: ART CARR out of business?
i do not know if they changed their name or sold the rights to another company...but i know the art carr shifter is made by California Performance Transmission (CPT) HB, CA is what is on the instructions and I bought from Mckenzies.
number 800-278-2277... 714-901-3777
address 5502 Engineer Dr., HB, CA 92649
if you need like other transmission components I know several distributors still have their parts.
I hope that helps

Re: ART CARR out of business?
Try wideopendesign.com. I just got mine. It is a winters shifter. They were running a sale and I got mine for 225.00 delivered to my door.

Re: ART CARR out of business?
Go to winters. I went to art carr for my shifter and their service was crap. It wouldnt suprise me if they did go out of business. They bought the company and the rights to Art Carr's name and down the tubes it went. My tranny guy told me that art carr buys the shifters from winters anyway... so cut out the middle man and the poor customer service

Re: ART CARR out of business?
I just got off the phone with Art Carr himself, I just bought a tranny for a '69 AMX (don't ask me why...lol) and he was very helpful and very much in business. Here is the contact info I have for him:

Re: ART CARR out of business?
You are correct. The man is still in business but not under the company name "Art Carr" .
