Right at the fence. Don't let the guard with the gun lie to you. Following the road along the fence is 100% legal!

Ahhh, somebody actually read those roadbook comments! It's a long story, but that comment in the roadbook is a result of what we believe to be a meth lab, a "guard" with a rifle and pistol standing at a locked gate in the middle of nowhere (near Tecopa), a barbed wire fence, a BLM designated wilderness boundary, and other factors. It's on one of my older rally routes (Vegas-to-Dumont), not part of the new Grand Rally route.

Our next ride is in a couple of weeks. We'll be pre-running stages 2, 6, and 7. At the moment I've got 21 stages mapped out, of which we've pre-run about 1/3 so far. This is taking a LONG time, but will be an amazing route when it's done!

    Re: The Grand Rally

We completed two more prerun trips, covering portions of Stages 6, 7, 8, & 9.

In prerun 4 we had Mark and his buggy come along as support and to carry gas. In that trip we ended up in a wash that was too rocky and difficult for the buggy. We had to turn back early and ended the trip far from completing what we had planned. Plus, my wife decided she will NEVER go a trip like this again.

Then this past weekend we put in 3 more days of tough riding. Good thing the buggy didn't come on this one because we ended up going down a gnarly boulder wash, then a bit later we hit a similar wash going up. For me these sections weren't much fun at all, but they will stay in the route to keep the difficulty high.

    Welcome.

I hear there's a 12-step program for recovery, but after being "hooked" since the early 90s I'm not sure there's any hope.
