Yeah I know.. I want to! It's just that I believe to run 35 spline I need to get different housing ends for bigger bearings! And I'll need to obviously get a different spool :-/

Also I'm not sure if the axle break was the cause of the problem, I'm thinking that the third member coming apart was the loud whining noise we were hearing and then once it completely came apart maybe that caused the axle to break? And isnt it recommended to have better pinion support to run 35 spline axles?

Alright so I had a possible deal on a ready to go third member and was just going to throw it in with new axles, but it fell through. Thinking about just having mine rebuilt with a new ring a pinion and keep my 31 spline spool and run 31 spline axles until I can go full floater later when I have some cash. Any inputs? I don't know if I want to waste the money changing things around and going 35 spline when I do plan to go full floater.

just some input you can fix your axle now and have your truck running id say go 35 spline and youll have a great axle then when time comes you have money you can sell that axle and get the floater like i said just an opinion

Alright so I picked up my 3rd member from the shop and am excited to throw it all back together (just need to order some axles now)... I know I'll probably regret it but I am continuing on with 31 spline axles, just don't have the money to upgrade, but I do see a full floater rear end in the near future. Craig Reed did a fantastic job with my trans and the 3rd member looks real nice!

Still a spool? I think thats why your other axles broke. Maybe a limited slip or locker would be better until you upgrade rearends. Just a thought. Good to see it on its way to running again.

I don't think the spool should cause a problem since the truck hasn't seen the street... Just too much power for the rear end I got, but not enough money to get a better one!
so I just need to take it easy until I go full floater

Two pedal race cars are for pussies. Wheres the fun in the truck doing all the work? All you youngsters have no appreciation for the sport. I'm kidding my brotha! Thanks for the help the other weekend. Gotta get this beast some axels and get her back out there!
