MDR event-who is going?
ok, besides everyones views, I want to go beyond that and simply ask a few easy questions. Who all is going to this event? Does anyone know who the girls were that helped me that night? I know there was at least one who held my head for me, and I never got her name or was able to thank her. I would appreciate if anyone knows. Please feel free to hit me up, and let me know anything that may warrant a warmhearted hug or handshake from me..i owe a lot more people then I am aware of for everything they did that night. This includes medics both off and on duty, racers, fans, bystanders, cops..even you Brett. You know I met you at Rogers event, but the look in your eyes when I stood next to you told me itwould not be appropriate to say a word..so i didn't. This event is not about lawsuits, opinions, or the like.at least not for me. this is about love, humanity and a shared passion for off roading. The people who passed away were kids, had kids, and were actually very cool brothers and sister in our sport..I know, because i hung out with Danica, Cheyenne, Rob,and Brian before the incident..even took pics with some of them..they were real life Americans like you and I, with lives cut short do to tragic circumstances. 8 lives in a family of 20 becomes 160 people forever changed..not to mention those hurt who were lucky enough to live. People unhurt were forever scarred with images that they never wanted to see. In my family, a lot changed.after 40 years of living, I saw my old man cry...he's old school English born, so hugs were not his fortay growing up..very blahish emotion from him..and he cried his eyes out at the idea he could have lost his son and 2 grandkids at the hospital. I cried my eyes out many times worrying i would not be the same, be able to work, lose my house..fail, as a father..my family... yes friends, emotions run deep when you walk in the shoes of those hurt or worse..and to clarify, even Brett has been changed forever i will assume. So many people were affected beyond words..and this event is to show we as a collective group care...we understand to whatever extent we can, we have empathy, we have emotion beyond our opinions formed without walking in the others shoes..without fully knowing their daily struggles. For me this event is about the possibility of thanking those who helped, comforting those who hurt, and supporting a sport I love..nothing more and nothing less. It is about my wife and my kids seeing and feeling the love of the off road community...especially my wife, she has been through enough..she needs comfort to know that although me and my son may be out in the desert for a weekend alone, especially after this scare, we are not alone out there..we are with family..family off roaders..good people with big hearts as we are...and I conclude with a simple thought I live by...WWJD? it dont matter much to me if you understand, as it is not for me to judge you.but I must live in my skin..and i choose to beleive in something..and live by it as best as i can...see ya all out there..and yes..i will be out there the weekend before to help as i should..to show my respects as i want to....

I'm assuming you're talking about the 13th? If so I will be at Rock Pile just like I have been for the last 7-8 years, no need for me to head over to Slash X that day.

Me and my two best friends Lauren and Lacey were the girls that were helping you as soon as we found you and your son..Lauren was the one that was stabilizing your neck as Lacey and I tried to calm your son down and also lay him down to get his neck stabilized. When we first came across your son he took me to go check on your daughter and from what i remember through all the chaos, one of his buddies..We stayed as long as we could with you guys until the EMTs arrived. I pray every day for not only you and your family but everyone that has been affected. As everyone knows something that will be in our minds and hearts forever..

If not...can you shoot me a pm so I can contact you..and to quell the immature statements that seem to be lingering..this has nothing to do with lawyers..seriously? Slly comment....unneeded.ahh..what's the word associated with a donkey again?..lol....

Just a warning that if you were a witness and do not want a subpoena at a later date you are better off not going, pay your respects at another time.

Was one of your girlfriends a nurse or medic off duty that night? The girl with short black cropped hair was very knowledgeable on triage' and helped a lot of people that night. A younger Mexican (didnt know his name) also took charge quickly and helped a number of the injured.
What I learned about this tragic accident is; in a mass medical emergency,99% of the uninjured people are in the way and have no clue how to help the injured. It has been almost a year , I hope some have taken a medical class, bought a first responder bag or atleast thought about how they could have been more prepared to help in a medical sitiuation.
Of course, I will be their to give support and respect to our family that were effected that tragic night.

i ran up to give cpr 2 minutes after impact and it was clear i was in the way more than i could help. everybody was being attended to. we will be there just like the last 5 years. either camped at the top or bottom of the rock pile. i want to donate some ambu bags from the hospital i work at, or other ER supllies like triage kits. i need to know who to give to? maybe jim at m.o.r.e. after that night and the time i had to give my gpa cpr in my backyard i carry a bag with my desert gear.
also i have an EMT portable medtronic defib with NIBP/SPO2 functions im trying to get approval to donate to m.o.r.e.
