Paris Dakar US press conference

For anyone interested in running the Dakar rally I will be hosting an official Dakar press conference on June 29th. It will take place in the Long Beach area. Please contact me for directions. It will begin at 11 am and be followed by a lunch. Entry kits and press kits will be available. All journalist and potential competitors are invited. We will talk about this years route and some all inclusive packages to race the rally on a bike or in a car. Darren,
Are you racing Dakar rally, or just promoting?
If so, what are you racing?

My company Baja Automotive is the official North American correspondent for ASO, the rally's organizers. We act as a resource to help competitors and journalists from the US, Canada and Mexico participate in the Dakar. We basically help people make sense of how the rally works and where to go to get everything they need to participate. We also are looking for ways to promote the Dakar here and make it easier for teams to travel from the US to race the rally.

As far as racing goes, nothing is confirmed yet, but I will be on the rally in some form or another. After driving in three previous rallies, I would only go to all the effort again if it was to be in a competive car. I will keep you posted.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to Darren Skilton and Baja Automotive for hosting an excellent Dakar press conference and luncheon. It was nice seeing Jimmy Lewis again and hearing all the exciting stories from some of the racers of this world famous off-road racing adventure. The food at Babouch Moroccan Restaurant was excellent too.

Oh and Darren you were quite impressive with your Belly Dancing!!
