Aluminum Work - Show it off

I thought it'd be cool to have a thread where people can show off their aluminum work (and maybe explain how they shaped and formed it?)

So, post up some pictures!!! Sick fully fab'd buggy bodies, fuel cells, dashes, paneling, etc...

I'll start it off. In the build section there's a pretty cool buggy built off of a dunebuggy.com platform. The aluminum work on it is bitchen! Not my work, but I wish it was...

Re: Aluminum Work - Show it off

Here's some of mine from today. I'm paneling everything up first (so the pics are kinda boring right now) so we can make some storage/ice chest spots... after that's all done, I'll be making a hood, roof and wing. Pretty basic, but I'm still having fun. Sorry for the cell pics

Man that's only slightly more impressive than the aluminum panels I just made for the Lord Humongous! Geez, I think if I rolled that buggy I'd sit down and have myself a good cry. Nice work!

That's why I started it. Seeing good welds and steel work is cool, but it's usually always structural... Al is usually more aesthetical and there are some true artists in the industry.

Speaking of which, all your guys work looks fantastic. And is that a... quad??

Yes, it's quad for the street. Powered by an ls2, more info at bourgets.com
Kind of a cross between a motorcycle and a street rod. This is one of a short production run that we built the bodies for. BTW I have no idea how they register them, but they do. keep em coming!!!

Re: Aluminum Work - Show it off

I was just gonna ask what that was for. . .

. . .I know that at least in AZ quads that have headlights and tail lights (might have to add blinkers) can be registered. . .started when the prices of gas started to get ridiculous. . .too bad the rest of the country can't make common-sense laws like that instead of stupid ones!
