    Keeping camera equipment clean?

Hey photogs! My brother is coming to our next race with his SLR camera and wanted to know if there were some tricks to keeping you equipment (lens mostly) from getting gritty after shooting?

Any tricks you can share (don't worry he is no competition for any professional photogs)?

    Plastic bag? Plastic wrap? RTV(kidding)?

    Thanks for any help.

There's really nothing you can do. Our camera's get hammered. Plastic bags sweat and then attract dirt and dust. I run a dust sock over my long lens but it doesn't keep everything out. All my lenses sound like pepper grinders.

Best bet is too get a blower and use it often...

Other than that make friends with your local camera repair man...! Being a desert racing photog is VERY hard on equipment, it gets expensive quick!

My camera's stayed pretty clean lately. Might be because I havent been to a race in almost a year.

Honestly, there is no good way. If I am in a bunch of dust, I just hide it in my shirt. If I change lenses, I try to do it when there are no cars coming, or I can walk to my truck and swap it out there.
