It would be great to have four races next year in four different locations, each with 60+ entries. And this is completely possible.

Well said Charles. I don't see it happening though.
And for those who like to add fuel to the fire, just remember once that bridge is burned it's a lot harder to get back to the other side.

From what I know, EDR is the oldest, safest, and longest off-road race organization in Texas.
Take care...

Longest race in Texas was 315 miles last weekend(that I am aware of) the 400 was 312 miles two weeks ago(per GPS. Race richie) the safest, that's a toss up... But any organization with IRC is the safest period, and the last post already showed neither EDR or BRT are the oldest. I would say it's the oldest of desert racing in this era of racers. I'm good with bosting and bragging, but let's keep it real.
All of the Texas associations can bost great things, but I smell MI7 in some of the statements on this thread...

Re: EDR Texas 400 live race updates
Steve, Daryl, Whats wrong with you guys. Just because the season is over in texas do you need to start this all over again. I though everyone was finnally getting along.
Steve your MI7 are very offensive to me.
John said there would be a 10500.00 dollar purse. it was there and paid on the spot.\ to the winners.
The race was supossed to be 60 mile loops, it had to be shortned to 52 because of the land owners livestock situation.
The race was supposed to be 400 miles, the racers ALL voted to shorten it to 300. Pleas tell me what was "over promised and under delivered"
Daryl your bridge burnt theory is BS, I raced both series. Yes Just 1 BRT event, but i put all af the past Feeling behind and looked forwared.
You cant see the future if you dwell on the past.

Re: EDR Texas 400 live race updates
Kenny Hill has some great Texas history. He was a racer back in the day when the Bracketville loop was being used. I know that when I spoke with hime he even pulled out a flyer on a short course that was in Austin. It's dated back in the 70s and was part of the Aqua Fest events.
With all that past history Texas has I owe John C. I would not be racing if had not been for John and his persute of reigniting racing in Texas. I applaud him and the sacrifices he has made.

Steve, Not sure what the "MI7" reference is unless we are talking about Millitary Intelligence Section 7...and really don't care. However, EDR claims to have held the longest race in Texas and I believe them. Wish I could have been there but had family priorities. IRC does not equate to safety but possibly optimized response time if an incident does occur. However, if we are going to be picky, I heard that the BRT tech inspections was very, very laxed with regards to fuel cells. If this is true, and safety is a priority for BRT, I would make sure this is a part of your inspections going forward. I still hold to my statement that "like for like," EDR is the oldest off-road race organization. Again, not sure if you compare the style of racing hosted by EDR to what was hosted around SA area. Either way, get over it... So...to respond to your concern on "let's keep it real," AMEN to that but...are you saying that every statement that BRT announces in its thread is...well..."real?" Also, got to give you credit Steve. For many months both organizations seemed to be supporting each other well with positive comments. It always seems as if someone from that other Texas organization throws the first punch and begins to strike a divide between the camps. Congratulations!

RRitchie - Couldnt say it any better. I meet you Saturday night in Odessa (after EDR race in Sept) and could tell you are a standup guy. Hope to meet up again next year.
Steve T - what is with you? Do you just like to stir up chit? Same with you John B. I like both of you guys, but the stuff that comes out of both your mouths some time just makes you both look like 2 kids in a who's Di*k is bigger contest. [BR]What is the most important thing that any series can provide to a race (besides money)…having fun. From what I have experienced, seen and heard from racers from each Texas series is that they both offer racers a great time for their money. Fun & challenging courses, good safe competition, friendly people and a family friendly environment.
I am tried of this BS between the racers who think the series they race in is the best. Are we in high-school??? OOOh EDR was 3 miles shorter than BRT, Ohh BRT had the biggest turn out, Ohhh this series is safer because of IRC, ohh EDR has been around longer.....come on guys enough already. If you dont like the other series, keep it to yourself and off this forum. You guys keep turning threads into a pissing contest and I am sure I am not the only one sick of it.
I think both series are doing great things for racing in Texas and only time will tell if both can last. They each have their followers and as Rritchie put it, racers can enjoy both series. As stated in other thread, each series offers different racing atmospheres, leave it at that. Enjoy the off-season in Texas and I’m look forward to seeing everyone in the spring.

Stefin,
I agree but will defend "the hood" as much as I can when necessary. Again, we don't start these ackward discussions but you can't blame people for not responding. I participated in debates in high school and college...so it is kinda in my DNA to respond. Will try to exercise restraint...if that is possible.
Looking forward to the next season of racing...in a new vehicle!
Anybody want to buy a Jeepspeed?
John B.

Re: EDR Texas 400 live race updates
Anyone know when the results/ lap times will be posted for the Texas 300? I heard that there was a really fast 1600 out there.

Exact quote from the driver "I was leading the 1000 last year in class 750 miles in before I broke. I am F*cking winning it this year." I think he will.
