Steve
I apologize for getting the posts/people mixed up but not for any comments I made. Race was calling me out for this, and now you are as well.
Where did I say anything negative about EDR?????
If you re read my comments I said nothing negative at all. I was trying to keep people (supporting either org) civil and remind them if they are our here trashing other organizations they may find them self not being able to race with that org in the future from spewing untruths and misconceptions.
I didn't say anything negative about EDR on this post and have refrained from doing so in a public form for a long while as I have no context to base comments on positive or negative since I have not been to the last 2 races.
Where did I say anything negative? John B is the one out here making claims he can't back up, but I guess we are suppose to let that slide?

I am kind of partial to buggies but the history of Texas racing (at least the last five years) is that a solid running class 10 or 12 buggy can keep up with the unlimited cars and TTs. This is mainly due to the number of tight twisty sections in the courses and lack of wide open straights and 3' whoop sections. A light buggy with a good power to weight ratio that is set up to corner will win every race here. Of course this is my opinion and I am a little biased to the buggies...
Also, now that Weddle has come out with their new transaxle, the main cost and reliability issue in buggies has been reduced.

There are two factors in the fast degradationtion of the foam: 1.) the gas now has ethanol and it reacts with the foam, 2.) the chemicals used to make the foam several years ago has been outlawed. We have a lot of older cars that have been sitting and the foam is going to be falling apart. At the first sign, don't waste a lot of time chasing it like I did, just bite the bullet and buy new foam.
If your foam is over 5 years, you might think about changing it out before the next race. Clogged fuel filters are a pain and can cost you the race.
Sorry Steve, missed your reply. That was exactly what I was looking for. Please PM or e mail me with fuelcell size this week if anyone is interested, I would like to order later this week or mid next week.

Hi Rodney,
Trucks (1450's) Pros: Can buy major parts like trans, engines and rear ends at junk yards, saving big $'s on repairs, can be set up to take bigger whoops
Cons: Don't handle as well in turns, lower fuel mileage, fiberglass repairs
Buggies Pro's: see Charles post. With the new ecotec motor (10 cars), motor cost and pump gas are lower than on high strung 12 car with VW motors, lighter vehicle, so easier to tow to races
Con's: Transaxels and drive shafts are expensive to buy and repair.
I admit, I have always been a buggy dork. I like the looks and better handling. With the tight courses here in TX, a buggy is more fun and comtetitive. It looks like after years of 12 car domination in the TX buggies, the 10 cars are the new class to have. The new ecotec can't be beat for reliability and cost of operation. Class rules also lead to a drivers class instead of who has the most $$$'s. My 11 year old 10 car is competitive with Race's brand new 10 car At the last Cross Creek race, we had 3 laps that the split between us was never greater than 3 sec per lap.

Re: EDR Texas 400 live race updates
Ok Rodney. Looks like trucks and buggies have their advantages and disadvantages. Entry cost may be the biggest factor for you and I for buggies but we can explore further. I like the horspower of the trucks but like the handling of the buggies. Reminds me of my ole karting and sports car days.
I'm sure we are going to get a big dose of trucks this coming weekend at the Traxxis races!
