That is not healthy for a sportsman class with open rules.
The only cash for 1450 that I am aware of was 1/2 entry for 1st at MDR and a one time $500 bonus at MORE for 1st.
I am never in favor of leaving cash in a promoters pocket.
How about no cash but a drawing for future 1/2 entries for finishers?

Re: HDRA entry fees
i honestly think there should be payback in 1450 DEPENDING ON AMOUNT OF ENTRIES.. so kinda a race to race kind of deal where its not set in stone wether there is payback or not...of course if there is 5-10 entered then no payback but i think if the amount of entries is like 30-80 trucks why not give 500-1000 back to the first place guy? thats nothing with 30-80 people paying 400 bucks entry fee..
it couldnt hurt at all its only a tiny piece of the pie and its enouph to bring more people to races and make people push harder for a win to get there entry fees back !!!
this is only my .02 cents.. as if i ever return to racing it will probably be 1400 or unlimited not 1450 just saying that it would be nice for the lower budget guys to get something back ..
if you think that would draw the sand baggers to that class then i think thats where the gentlemans agreement comes into play and they should be voted out ..plus if theres a little payback in 1400 as well they wont have any issues with sand baggers wanting to race 1450 just for $$

You want pay back, that puts you in the Pro status, pony up and race with the big dogs. You 1400-50 guys can't agree on any thing.

I would almost go for that if I could afford the drive down... ;-)

The problem with payback in Open Sportsman classes is you end up with a TT and a lot of money behind it taking all the cash.
Payback is not for Sportsman. If you guys do a payback I'll tack weld a Ranger cab on a TT and go get the $$$, otherwise I'll just race a cheap stockish Ranger and have a good time.
