Where are all the V-8 Pro-Lite Unlimited's?
Okay guys, when all the hub-bub was going down, there were quite a few people that said that they would race in the Pro-Lite class if V-8's were allowed... Well, so far we've only seen Casey Currie, R.J. Anderson, and Luke Johnson enter a V-8. So where are these trucks that have been, or are being converted to V-8's?

Hopefully they stay back east and let the real pro lite trucks race out here.

Hey Brian wasnt it you who was saying there would be 50 of this things out there? I still say the v8 pro lite does not make sense, engine doesnt match mfg. , v8 in mini truck, and so on. I think people thought if you put a cheap v8 in that truck it would be cheaper to race, it still costs alot. From what we hear from back east the whole engine thing is still not figured out and like i said from the beginning theres always cheaters in spec racing. I also think people are confused about what to build, in Lucas the v8s are getting their ass handed to them, untill they get some definite guide lines, people will be on the fence. just my thought

I was wondering the same thing, especially with nearly $50,000 up for grabs at TORC next weekend in TX.

Do you mean limited lites? That's what it should be called, racing is a money sport and if you can't spend it to race then stay home. East coast is one thing but west coast needs the pro lite class and really should leave the class alone really. Just my opinion...

If that is your attitude then why not do away with all of the classes except Pro2 and Pro4?
I would like to see more people racing the V8s in Pro Lite, but I think that a lot of the top teams are hesitant to do so until they have been proven to be competitive.

Manny, I think you have me confused with someone else! I have always been of the opinion that SPEC racing is a bad idea. My point in posting this thread is, all these people that opend their mouths and spewed all the pro-V8 propaganda have choked... Why can't these people learn to build their own engines if they want to save a buck? It's no different than an engine builder/ racer complaining that the chassis is too expensive because they don't do their own fabrication.
So, with that said, where are these trucks that have been converted? If the V8 is the answer, why haven't we seen any of them? Seems to me that people are figuring out that the engine is not the largest expense like it was made out to be by the peanut gallery.

They will not be competitive with the 4's on the Loors venues. All the trucks except 2 trucks that come from TORC are 4's. What should all the teams do with 25k engines, 5k bellhousings and clutches and 6k a gear boxes? Do the math and it would hurt the teams more to have them switch things over to spec v-8 anyway and Loors truck count would go from 15 to 6 In a hurry.

Keep the V8 as an option, not mandatory.
