No issues with speed here but one concern I would have at an "open" Texana is contact with a large tree. I would hate to see someone wad it up and have contact with a large oak. That would not be good for the Beals or racing in Texas. As for the the more open areas of Texas..sure! Open it up but you still have to finsh!

Re: 2012 Texas Race Schedule
My call is for 3 races a year, properly spaced out. I like tjhe 250 - 300 mile format at NoTrees, 200 at Texana. Trying to schedule around V2R, The Mint and 1000 would be best. Don't worry about west coast racers. It's great when they show up and are always welcome, but with so many local races and the price of fuel, it just doesn't make sense fopr them to travel this far.
Let's try to get a schedule where we can get the car count to 30+ cars. That way the promoters can hope to break even or even make a few bucks for their hard work. Texas racing will only survive with Texas racers. We need to cater to them. Many of us just don't have the money to travel out west to race.

I believe that was the best post you have ever made here on RDC. Can't wait to start racing again.

Re: 2012 Texas Race Schedule
Are you guys planning on running any motorcycle classes next year? I tried to get a team together for one of the races last year and couldn't get any of my buddies schedules to line up. Would love to come race, but too poor for a car right now!

Re: 2012 Texas Race Schedule
I would love to race in the winter, when it is not 100+ degrees, and I'm back from Alaska. Sometime between November- March.

Note sure where the July date came from, but it's not in July. Chupacabra is first weekend in Oct (4th - 7th).

Re: 2012 Texas Race Schedule
Sorry, but too many attempts to run motorcycles at our races and the turn out has always been too low. Most of the guys that race cars and bikes race their bikes with TORC or other TX race series. I don't think you will see a promotor trying to run a motorcyle race at anymore events.

Re: 2012 Texas Race Schedule
I would just like to see fixed dates at this point. Everytime I see this topic come back up top, its a change in the schedule. I am on an overseas military deployment right now, and will miss the 2012 season, but hope to return to a more stable Texas desert racing scene. Whether its two seperate governing bodies that can work together, or a merged, single group, I could care less.
