Re: Class 7200 build with 8 a-arms and lots of cv's
we picked up 4 2.5" coil overs from ICON vehicle dynamics as well as a dummy 3" bypass shock from them. we are are marking up the bypass cylinder and they are going to weld the bypass tubes on. super excited to test these shocks out. I dont think their competitors can match these shocks, especially the bypasses. the eye to eye distance is super compact, the bypass tubes are replaceable if they are damaged. And what really sold me on them is the adjusters have detent clickers on them and the port is shaped so that each click adjusts the damping a similar amount vs. a traditional adjuster that you have to count turns and certainly the first turn and the last turn are not similar. I'll post some pics once the tubes are all welded up.
we put some mock up spindles on the truck so we could make sure that the body didnt rub the tires, since the actual spindles are no where near being done.

Very Cool that you are following your learning from Mini Buggy. Was there a reason for not going to outboard hubs in the rear? Do you want to give up who's front chunk you are gong to use and the Cv face-to-face dimension? Great stuff. Thanks for moving 4X4 IFS/IRS forward. About time for a monthly update.
Re: Class 7200 build with 8 a-arms and lots of cv's
the front diff is from jeff fields. the flange to flange distance is 8". I didnt use outboard hubs for 2 reasons. the only info I could get from the few who make them is that the axle would probably hit the boot flange at under 30 degrees which didnt really wrk for me. The other is to zero out the plunge The lower out board pivot had to be pretty close laterally to the outer cv pivot. So I ended up designing my own mid board set up with the rotor pushed out as far as possible. I would do a few things differently if I were to redesign everything.

We have been looking for a small cnc mill for quite a while but the machining on this project was sort of the straw that broke the camels back so we pulled the trigger. I think the economy must be improving because the price of these smaller machines used has gone up 20%-30% in the last 6 months. Bad for me good for the old USA though!
