Whats the scoop with the 2.4L Eco tech

I,M looking for some answers on the 2.4L Eco tech engine for class 10.I Have many bone yard hookups for under 30k engines.But the engine from the factory is using variable timing on the cam and has a switch on head to control via ecm.I have not seem the switch used on any cars..What are you guys doing with the cam timming..Any help would be great.I plan on using redline ecm,harness,engine plate and header..

Everyone running the 2.4 ECOTEC has the variable cam timing enabled via a Mefi or Motec ecu.
