Re: Possable 12 car accident today
It´s time to not only look out for hazards on your gps co-dog. now you got one more thing to watch out for, wrong way traffic, which is one of the worse hazards during pre-running/racing, especially at high speeds. hope the Quinteros get well soon!!!!! Good luck to all and be safe guys. You´ll gotta get home safe for Thanksgiving and give thanks for an accident free race.

I don't understand the "wrong way" thing, except on race day. Locals still need the roads and trails to access town and go about their normal routine. I am sure as far as the local "meatheads in an F350" are concerned, the 12 car was going the "wrong way" and too fast at that.

Est. 75 mph?
Seems kinda fast for prerunning, its not technically a "race course" yet.
I agree with fathead its still a normal road til race day, at least most would think that way.
That's what gets people in trouble.

Absoulutly correct. , even race day the farmers own the roads and use them.

There is no closed race course in baja, even on race day. This is one place where dust is good.

Re: Possable 12 car accident today
I am happy to hear that everyone is going to be ok. I equate the Baja 1000 on race day to Pamplona's running with the bulls. They run on public road(s), but the locals know that on the 'big day' to be careful and stay off of the road. But pre-running is a different story, as locals have to get to and from their houses and ranches. If you pre-run and not 'pre-race' eveyone should be ok.
