Just wanted to know what the racers with the bigger race trucks/prerunners who you were using to build your steering boxes? I need to order one ASAP because I know they take awhile to get. Thank you in advance.

well i guess its a good ytime for a dumb one to ask what a siginaw box is. and i assume its for steering and is different from a regualar steering box. whats the difference and why is it used.

its the ford 9" of steering boxes. its strong, simple, and you can find them, and more importantly parts for them, anywhere. i know its a really common conversion for the rockcrawler guys, i didnt know there were used in desert racing, but it makes sense that they are.

B4 the power racks came along it was common even to see them in 5's and buggies.
They are not all the same though, there are different sizes and I'm not up on how to tell them all apart (some are VERY close to the same physical size).
Is it the set up where they have a steering box like on most trucks "chevys or fords" but then they have a hydrualic line going to a piston like on a slider with center mounted tie rods and they both work in sync together??? I never figured out why they would run a power steering box and a ram together dont they do the same thing??? some one set me streight please......
that piston is hydralic assist. allot of steering setups need more help because of the design or big tires.
